Eagle Scout Projects

Yard Sales

All of our students in Guatemala receive some level of scholarship to help fund their education.  100% of the monetary donations we receive go towards these scholarships.  In the past we have had scouts organize large yard sales that have brought in over $2,000 in scholarships.

Supply Solicitation

Our schools and students are always in need of office and school supplies, as well as playground/recess equipment.  However, if your scout would like to do this project, we do ask that he also raise enough funds to cover the cost of shipping the supplies down to Guatemala.  Our US office does not accept in-kind donations.

Supplies currently needed:

  1. Picture books for ages 3 through 10 (Spanish or English)
  2. Sets of 10 20 story books for use in classrooms with children from age 3 to 12. (English preferred)
  3. Assorted reading books for the library. These should be fun books like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc. (Spanish preferred)
  4. Paper of all kinds, color, white, bond, thick, thin, all sizes.
  5. Office supplies such as folders, file holders, markers of all kinds, envelopes, etc
  6. Pens, crayons, of all kinds and all colors.
  7. Paints of all kinds for art projects (e.g., temperas, water paints, etc.)

Previous Projects

eagle scout project

Ben Wallace, from Eagle Mountain Utah recently completed a very successful Eagle Scout Project. He collected 198 cash donations totaling $556 and a total of 440 pounds of materials were collected and sent to Guatemala.  After paying for shipping, he still had $229 left to donate to our scholarship fund.

Ben recommends carrying out this project right before our school year starts in August while parent’s are out shopping for school supplies for their own children.
