Educational Programs in Guatemala

International Education Conference

Each summer the Rose Education Foundation sponsors the International Education Conference (IEC) for teachers in Guatemala. The conference is hosted each June in coordination with Galileo University in Guatemala City. The goal of the IEC is to provide Guatemalan teachers with practical presentations and workshops to improve teaching and learning. Each year teachers from Guatemala and other countries are invited to participate.

Mayan Heritage Center

We are in discussions concerning the potential of a Mayan Herigate Center (MHC). The goal of the MHC is to celebrate the Mayan culture with native Guatemalans and visitors to the country. The MHC may be located on the site of our school in Patzicia, Guatemala on the Pan American highway.

Computers in the Community Project

The Rose Education Foundation completed a project to bring surplus computers from large US companies to communities in Guatemala. The computers were given to families in Guatemala in exchange for a donation to the Rose schools. Now people who had never dreamed of having a computer, are being brought across the digital divide.
